Gluing

This glue-up took a few days due to the lack of clamps and the tons of pieces I had to stick together. I glued up each thin ebony “strip” first and then I glued these to the bottom divider piece. The challenge was keeping everything square because if things got skewed then the spacing on the top would be off. I used a lot of different clamps to keep things aligned.

Then I glued up the frame sections and once again the most important thing was keeping everything square. Once that was done, I prepared for the most nerve wracking glue-up of them all where everything would come together.

This thankfully went pretty smoothly and once this was done, you can finally see the cube in its entirety. Also luckily, the gaps between the ebony strips are fairly even. Next it will be time for the bottom half.
